Tata Electronics, Sojitz Corporation and NRS CORPORATION Announce Partnership to Develop Semiconductor Materials Supply Chain for Dholera Fab

- Sojitz Corporation and NRS CORPORATION will collaborate on the development of a semiconductor materials supply chain to support Tata Electronics’ upcoming foundry in Dholera, Gujarat
New Delhi (INDIA) / Tokyo (JAPAN), 18 September 2026: Tata Electronics, a pioneering leader in India’s electronics and semiconductor manufacturing sector, Japan’s Sojitz Corporation, a global trading and investment company with extensive expertise in chemical trading, supply chain management, and business development, and NRS CORPORATION, a leading logistics company specializing in chemicals and hazardous materials used in the semiconductor industry, have announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for collaboration on the supply and storage of critical semiconductor materials for the INR 91,000 crore semiconductor Fab being built by Tata Electronics in Dholera, Gujarat. The partnership is in alignment with the Government of India’s goal of enabling a thriving, world-class semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem in India.
Under this partnership, Sojitz Corporation and NRS CORPORATION will explore and validate a supply chain management framework in support of the development of a robust semiconductor materials ecosystem for Tata Electronics’ Fab in Dholera, Gujarat. The initiative aims to strengthen the safe, reliable, and efficient management of critical semiconductor materials, including those requiring specialized handling.

Tata Electronics is establishing India’s first 12-inch (300 mm) commercial semiconductor Fab in Dholera, Gujarat, marking a significant milestone in the country’s semiconductor journey. The facility will produce semiconductor chips for high-growth applications across automotive, mobile, and artificial intelligence applications, serving customers worldwide. As Tata Electronics accelerates the development of a robust semiconductor ecosystem in India, it continues to build strategic partnerships across the global value chain of customers and partners.
Sojitz Corporation and NRS CORPORATION are actively engaging with Dholera Industrial City Development Limited (DICDL) to secure a suitable site within the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR). Concurrently, the companies are assessing the permits, licenses, and regulatory frameworks required for the import, transportation, storage, handling, and management of semiconductor materials.
